If Iraqi oil was paying for the war, we would not have record deficit spending to pay for the war.

Yep, the POS lied again.

One of the weakest points Democrats/Liberals make is when they say Bush lied about ________ (more troops, Iraqi oil, etc..).

To lie, one has to deliberately know that what one is saying is false. If I tell you that we will wake up tomorrow morning with no deficit, that is a lie since I know perfectly well that will not happen.

When Bush said "Iraqi oil will pay for the war." (or did he say "to help pay for the war"? I'm not sure). he may have believed that this would have been a feasible option. It is plausibe that he thought the following: Reconstruction will cost $x, and the profits from the sale of Iraqi oil on the market will be more than that. Therefore, Iraqi oil will pay (or help to pay) for the war.

If you're going to criticize him, criticize him for his gross miscalculation and mismanagement. One can certainly make a strong case for that. But why do you have to go on a personal attack and call him a liar? You are now wandering into an area that you cannot possibly prove. It weakens your case exponentially.

Absolutely not. A large share of the oil produced in Iraq is going directly to big oil companies.

Get off the Iraqi's case. They're gonna put in 10 billion. So what if they own the country and we put in 300 billion.

George W. Bu[ll]sh[itter] and his cabinet are too greedy to make that happen. All the money is being extracted, and sold, by Halliburton. It's not being invested in the American people, or the American people's homeland defense, education system, healthcare system, prescription drug aid, or anything useful. Also, did you know that Dick Cheney was vice-president of Halliburton? Do research on this, it's fascinating.
