My 1990 Toyota Camry engine won't crank but light will come on?

Did you hear qick sound,If not the battery is too weak,change the new battery will work.Light on does not mean you have strong battery.

Either the battery is low, you have a bad ground or the starter is bad. If it clicks at all, it is probably the starter. Sometimes the armature lands in a bad spot and you have to tap the starter to get it to turn over. First I'd check the battery and clean the posts and cable clamps. If that doesn't fix it, take the starter off and take it to an auto parts store and have it tested.
