Southern California, just a few years ago. Went with my husband, and my teenage daughter.

We had all been to Disneyland in the past, which is totally overrated, if you ask me! So, we spent the 4th of July at Six Flags Magic Mountain, riding all of their extreme rides. Amazingly, there were no lines, which was not our expectation on a holiday, and they had a great fireworks show!! We also went into Hollywood, and ate lunch at Pink's hot dog stand (a must see, really!), and toured the LaBrea Tar Pits.

I think the best memory of that particular vacation was all of the relaxation that we had in the hotel pool...It really was great, just being able to hang out together, and enjoy each others' company.

Disney World... as an adult with my kids. I was never one of those "disney freaks" and didn't get why people were so into it. But, then I went and, as corny as it sounds, it really is a magical place. Now we go every year and I think I get more excited than my girls do.
