That sure would eliminate the need for divorce lawyers wouldn't it?

No. Marriage is not meant to be a business contract.
Marriage is a spiritually ordained committment between two people, blessed and honored by God. Marriage is supposed to be a reunion - a man and his help mate coming back together, joining together to make each other stronger in all things.
When you seek a spouse, you are not just trying to find someone to live with. You should think of it as finding someone that you cannot live without. No one is perfect, and no one is expected to be. If you marry someone expecting them to be perfect, then yeah, maybe five years down the road you may want to bail on them. Or, they may want to bail on you.
Marriage means loving someone in spite of the faults. Loving someone so much that if it comes right down to it, if they never change, if she always leaves the cap off the toothpaste, if he always leaves the bathroom seat up - you know that you are still not going anywhere.
I don't believe in prenuptial agreements either because they are planning for a marriage to fail. You should not ever, NEVER enter into a marriage with an escape plan. The most common vows of marriage are ''till death do us part'. That's the way it should stay. Not 'according to sub-section b, paragraph 2, after a period of more than two years but not to exceed five years, I offer you my hand in marriage'.

No, not at all! Imagine the time that would waste. You'd need someone to file and update all the records on a regular basis for one thing. Next, what would happen if you forgot to renew in time? Life happens! It would be an extreme annoyance to have to continually renew your license. Also, what if you decided not to renew? And you had children? Would you have to worry about custody issues and name changes? Too many complicating factors make this a BAD idea.

Umm....NO! I think pre-marital counseling is the BEST solution. If a counselor is able to talk a couple out of marriage, he's solved the divorce problem before it arises. If he can't, then they truly are ready for a LIFELONG committment and the counseling will have shown them where they are and aren't on the same page regarding what each one expects from marriage and as a result, they will most likely be able to get through the "worse" parts of "For better or worse...."

You only need to be told once that you are legally married
However both need to remind themselves they are marr-
ried and start acting like it by keeping the promises they
made to each other and with love involved and committ-
ment to one another that shouldn't be too hard to do. It's
not the physical aspect that keeps a marriage togeather,
it's the moral aspect.

Why get married in the first place. What people need to do is start looking at themselves and fixing what is wrong in their life, they do that, a better chance of making it last. I have been married 35 years and I have to always look at myself and so does my husband.

I do not. It states plainly in the marriage vows "till death us do part" not "for the next 5 years"

Um NO! When you get married, you ARE MARRIED...FOREVER! What in the heck is wrong w/ this world? If you can't see yourself with the person forever, save your guests time and your money and DON'T GET MARRIED! Marriage is not a game...it's a commitment...FOREVER!
