This answer is short and sweet....YES! make sure nothing comes within 3 feet of your heater and make sure your tip, shut off switch is working properly. Also, I have seen old carpet catch on fire as well. Good luck.

yea!! 2 mo ago one of my fiance's friends baby died b/c toys fell on top of the heater. by the time she knew what was happening it was too late. it was 1200 degrees in the room.
