It shouldn't be that way, but it is. I would have disagreed with this about 6 months ago......but I have braces now and my teeth are looking FINE!!!!
My boss has made some comments like long time coming kind of stuff......Strange, I have gained some weight and people tell me that I look better now than I did a year ago.....I was 120 and now I am 130.
People are more superficial than you think.

I think that the first impression goes a very long way. Typically if you look better, dress better and talk better. Then people respect you more and treat you better. You appear to treat yourself better so others do it too!
It is the whole persona that you give off as well.... Models can look great but if they act like complete Bitc*es then people typically do not want to do anything for them.

It's definitly true. Attractive people are more likely to be confident, and confidence is the key to leadership and success in general. Plus people like to be around people that are attractive. And being around seriously unnatractive people makes many folks uncomfortable. So if you are attractive and you work in the service industry (banker, waitress, financial planner, retail clerk, lawyer) then you are going to generate more business--and make more money--because people will gravitate towards you. Clients will WANT to go to lunch with you, play golf with you, have you at their annual Christmas party, even if it's an unconscious decision. You don't have to be smokin' hot to benefit--but if you are downright unattractive it will definitly cost you in the long run (unless you are in a non-social industry where you don't interact with customers, etc.).

There have been many studies done on this and sadly, it is true. But remember that just because someone is more beautiful, doesn't mean they have the brains to use what they have wisely. How many beauties wind up with rich, abusive men who treat them like trophies? A lot! See?

Sadly I suspect this is the case, but I don't have any evidence. It should not be grounds for discrimination, but can you imagine a court case where one person thought the prettier girl got the job because she was just that? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Absolutely.
It's not fair, but it's true. For men and women. People treat people based on the way they look, dress, talk, smell, carry themselves, all these things. It is instinct to do so.

That depends on if you are working with men or women. And if there are men or women at the restaurants/stores you visit.
