In the orginal Cinderella story, her step-sisters hacked off parts of their feet to fit the glass slipper and in the end, had their eyes pecked out by pigeons.

And Snow White's Prince Charming was probably a necrophiliac that thought she was a corpse.

...and there's so many more!

What do you think?

I think they would make great horror movies. Horror movies that are coming out these days are completely bland. It would be great to see these fairytales in their original grimmest form.

The original Grimm tales were, if you will pardon the pun, grim. Most contained elements that amny would find somewhat gruesome. I think that some of them might well transfer over into the horror/suspense genre IF a sufficiently talented writer were given the project.

also in the orignal grimm's snow white, the queen dies from putting on iron shoes heated in the fire and forced to dance until she drops down dead.
and she doesnt come to life with a kiss, but the prince drops the casket (after buying it from the gnomes) and the poison apple comes out of her throat and she comes back to life.
we read the story in english bc we are doing alternative fairytales. its awesome, i love things like that.
