the other day I turned on the fire in the living room (it is a gas fire) and when the pilot light came on of course a bit of gas came out before it lit properly. I inhaled that gas and, although it was very little exposure it has worried me slightly. Does anyone know if this could've harmed my baby?

nope..it woulnt have passed through your placenta, it would have had to have been enough to make u ill first and once your body was saturated, then it passes to the baby x

Any chemicals can be potentially harmful to baby... just go get a breath of fresh air and drink 2-3 quarts of water a day to help fush out any toxins regularly.

if the exposure to the gas is not so much then iam sure the fumes might not be able to pass through to the baby

Not that small amount. Your lungs worked as a filter so nothing got to the baby. If you are exposed for a long period of time is when you need to be worried.

Unless you enhaled so much that you felt like you lacked oxygen, your baby is fine.
