If you can get ahold of it, grab with one hand at the base of the tail and another underneath the torso with thumb on one side of the jaw, other fingers on other side of jaw. Wear gloves, those claws are nasty. If this is a rescue iguana or one that has not been given a lot of human interaction, you might never be able to handle it in any way other than this. Make sure you're not strangling it instead of just controlling the head. This can be modified by tucking the tail between the arm of the hand holding the jaw and your body. Be careful! Those tails are almost as nasty as the claws. Good luck.

Stand on it's tail and make as tight of a fist as you can and punch it, right in the head, repeatedly and just keep beating the little thing until it is subdued.
