hold the on off button for about 5 secs then release it will force shutdown
or
ctrl+alt+delete button will bring up manager
discontinue processes then try to shutdown
it wont be a virus

do as chuck says. if u need any free antivirus for permanent solution get avg frm free.grisoft.com dont forget to update it daily
