Please don't give up.
I know college can be overwhelming, with all its responsibilities and choices to make, but you will be so happy if you stick with it and get your degree.
If you are burned out, try taking more classes you enjoy, even if they aren't related to your major. You will be more enthusiastic about going to class, and you just might find a new hobby or career direction.
I "took a semester off" about 9 years ago, started working, and never went back to school. I still want to go back, and I definitely regret not following through. It is so much easier to finish now instead of going back.
Good luck to you, and I hope this helps. :)

College can be a really tough time. I'm guessing you are lliving in a dorm on campus, and it's probably your first time living on your own. Add that stress to the stress of the huge workload for all your courses, with the 30-page term papers, endless tests to study for, and projects and readings to complete, and it's no wonder you can't focus. I've been there! You know what worked for me? Taking at least an hour oout of every day to do something just for me, like a nice manicure or maybe just a quick little shopping spree at Victoria's Secret or Express. I'm not sure how close your campus is to any fun stuff like that, but most college towns have pretty decent shopping districts. If shopping's not your thing, maybe you could take a nice yoga class. Many colleges offer them through their PE department, and they may actually count as elective credits!! Just remember- this will pass, and you will graduate! Hang in there, and please don't give up because statistics show that a very large amount of people who drop out of college never return at a later date, and I still believe it's important to have a degree. Good luck to you!!!!

You probably need to manage your time better... Stress a major cause of dropping out of high school and college. Get a planner and write down ALL assignments, tests, or projects. Everyday, check your planner after class and do everything that needs to be done (starting with the hardest). Do all essay/projects/term papers or anything like that well in advance so you don't have to stress starting it the day before it's due. And just keep telling yourself that it will be worth it. Cause when you graduate you'll have a degree and will be able to get a well paying job. Don't give up...

Most of us feel like giving up at some point in our college career. Don't!! Stop and think (or get with friends who will help) what's got you down. Don't use this time to whine... this is work time!
Too much on your schedule? What are you willing to give up? A class? Partying with friends? Part-time job?
Too much homework? Get organized! (Aaack!! Yea, organized.) Start with what has to be done 1st and make a pile, then schedule (oh, no... there's that word again) time to really dig in! Don't try and do too much at one time... break it up, but remember to come back.
Hate your instructors? Get over it... it will not be the last time you hate your instructors (or a boss for that matter.)
Overwhelmed or don't understand material. Quick, run to the tutoring center!!
College isn't easy... if it was EVERYONE would have a degree!! College is where you learn who you are, what you are willing to do and what you will become!
Fight!!

Boy do I know how you feel! I am 25 and have two kids, and am also pregnant with twins. Trying to squeeze in the time to study and stay focused seemed impossible, and sometimes it was. I have actually taken this semester off to re-focus my life, and figure out if I really am in this for the long haul. My best advice to you would be to MAKE YOURSELF finish your current semester with acceptable grades instead of just giving up mid-stream. I am now ineligible for financial aid because I gave up and didnt care. If you need to take some time to revamp your determination towards your education, do it, for your own sake. But PLEASE dont walk away in the middle ....you'll seal your fate before you know what you really wanted to do! Good luck

If your like me and do not want to run stagnant for 10 to 15 years you will finish. Most college graduates do not work in the field that they received their education in. The idea is to get that degree and work toward what you want. Use that as your focus.
