Get involved in a group for babies and parents. Most public libraries have free storytimes for infants and parents. You and baby will both be entertained for awhile with fun songs and rhymes -- plus your baby will get some peer interaction and you can meet and visit with other moms!

Does she like to ride in her stroller? You could walk her around the mall, or put her in a shopping cart at the grocery store. My 8 month old daughter loves to look at the bananas and mylar balloons at our grocery store. She could go up and down the aisles for an hour pointing at ketchup bottles and waving to the other shoppers. Even if you don't buy anything, it passes the time. Depending on how active she is, you could put her in the bathtub with some of those bathtime paints, or some play dough. Let her squish around and get messy....then she's already in place for a bath--another pastime!

8 months the attention span is not there to do things such as grocery store play, building tents inside and such. Have you tried baby yoga tapes? Any child-mommy work out video is always fun!

Believe it or not, if you have any kid-safe finger paints..she might like to make a little mess...my daughter loved to do that at that age.
