Already changed spark plugs, twice. Had a new maf sensor installed. Still getting missfire in cylinder 1. Car rides rough when accerelating- most when accerelating after stopping.

If you have checked and changed plugs etc, try leads, has this problem just started? whats the weather like where u live? if its damp then you have to dry out the ignition system using a hair dryer, heat the distributer cap inside as well as out. If after doing all these checks etc, you may have a loose or broken connection on no 1, otherwise it could be a head off job, it could be a broken or burnt valve or a sticking valve. Blown head gasket, other mechanical failure to no 1 cylinder. ocal garage should be able to diagnose a blown head gasket very cheaply for you.

You need to use quality parts, for starters. If you're using whatever the cheapest crap at Autozone is, you're going to have problems.

You changed the plugs, but what about the wires? The spark may be arcing out of the wire if it's close to something metal somewhere along it's route. Check all of your wires (especially to cylinder #1) for 'hotspots'. Also check the connections for corrosion, that's a big spark killer.
