a road trip is very safe in malaysia.it depends on what vehicle you wanna to ride but all is safe and good.

1)if you want to take a bus,you just need to buy a bus ticket from a bus station.long distance will cost around rm30 ++..but short distance may cost less than rm 30.for long distance the bus will stop once at a perhentian( i forgot what's it called in english..R n R i think)..there you have 1 hour to use the toilet, freshen up and eat.

2)im not really sure about trains, because i dont usually use trains.

3)if you prefer using a car(which i think is the best),then it is a good choice.just be aware of the signboards.there are many perhentian so if you need to use the toilet or freshen up then you can always find one..unless you are travelling in the country side.make sure you put enough gas and have enough money for the tolls.

Very safe. Of course, you would still have to look out for the occasional bad driver but other than that, I would say road trips are the best way to really enjoy Malaysia.

I suggest you stay off the new highways if you want to try unique food and drinks. Kampung (village) areas are the best to try funky foods.

p/s:vivhikki™, Malaysia IS a third world country, but it is (to me) the safest and most modern of all third world countries. Malaysia is still classified as a third world country mainly becouse of our economic condition.

As long as you keep your eyes on the roads and side mirrors, I'm sure everything's okay. In cities, motorcycles riders sometimes get between cars and lanes in roads, thus you always need to be aware of them. Oh, and make sure to avoid traffic on cities during 8.00am - 10.00am, and 5.00pm-7.30pm on working days. That is when cities will experince heavy traffic.

Overall, I think roadtrip in Malaysias would be almost the same as in any other cities in the world.

safe and nice. ultimately if u rent a car and drive around malaysia. Its cheaper than hopping around in taxis, convenient and hassle free. Depending on time of day, sometimes taxi are hard to come by, especially when it rains!! Road signs are easy to understand and visible clearly.

Safe? I was walking in Jalan Bukit Bintang and I was robbed at knife point. But that's not a road trip.

If you're planning a road trip, you must get away from these bikers who are crazy road users. They don't know road courtesy.
