I have to find 2 articles (opposing viewpoints) about one of MLK's urban works. (I'm a Urban Studies major) Any recommendations as to how I can find articles with opposing viewpoints? Any suggestions on something specific he did? (He did so many things!) I was leaning towards the Montgomery Bus Boycott, but was unable to find anything opposing the boycott. Please help! thank you

MLK and Malcolm X were both great leaders. MLK was non-violent and MX believed in 'by any means necessary' meaning use violence if it will get the job done and better protect us. Look for an article where they had a meeting one day. It will definitely help you out. In addition to this, you can look up the mayor around the early 60's when he was boycotting and see his view on MLK. He was very racist. Good luck!

When I read your question, I immediately thought of the Garbage Workers' Union strike that he was actually in town to mediate when he was shot in Memphis in 1968. I know that he was an extremely controversial part of the whole situation and that there were a lot of opposing viewpoints, predominantly from the people who didn't want to approve the striking garbage workers for the salary and benefits demands they had before they would go back to work. Just Google Memphis Garbage Workers' Union Strike 1968, and you should be able to find a lot of articles involving MLK.
