Im really becoming frusterated with the Patriots offseason moves. I really the Patriots cant win every year but its almost like they dont even try. My main concern is with the WRs because I feel like it wont get addressed this offseason. The pats have a ton of cap room and two first round picks, but the concesses is that the Pats wont go WR with either of those picks and with no decent WR in freeagenct the Pat likely wont address wr until after the 3rd round. I heard Rany Moss is going to traded and raiders are only asking for a 3rd round pick, which the Pats have two of. Unfortunatley its also been the consensis that the Pats wont go after Moss. I just dont understand the Pats mind set, are they serously considering going another season with Caldwell as the #1 guy. Theres no way a 3rd round pick could ever step into a 1st reciever roll and with no free agent and the patriots not interested in trading I dont really know what the other option is. Does anyone have any idea?

Your thinking is shallow and flawed. Wasn't Brady a 6th round pick?? And he stepped nicely into a starting role when called to do so. So why MUST the Patriots make sure they have a better than third round pick for wide receiver because a third round pick could never step into a starting position? You make little sense.

Bill Belichick won't take Randy Moss. He doesn't want anyone challenging his authority, especially after seeing what happened with his mentor Parcells and T.O. The Pats wants players who fit into Belichick's system. The last disgruntled player he took was Corey Dillon and Moss can be a even bigger problem. Especially if he keeps getting interviewed by Chris Myers.

I think the Pats to need to replace some defensive players with youth. Samuels is probably gone so they'll need a CB from the draft too. The Pats will use a later round draft pick on a WR.

There have been late round draft picks at WR break records in the league so you can not say that his draft status is the problem. Hey look at pat's QB and their previous number one wideouts when they were holdin up trophies they were not top draft picks. They have Gaffney that is ready to bust out and really do some damage. The patriots have a special way of doing things and most big time wide outs are really against the patriot way of playing ball (i.e. Kevin Johnson, Owens, Horn, Moss etc.)

Look let them do what they can they were a few points this year from holding up another trophy.

nobody wants moss, he is all trouble.......and i think if you look at the history of WRs the top guys don't always pan out, and some deep picks do well.

Chris Chambers was a 3rd or 4th round pick and had an immediate impact with miami.

the Colston guy from new orleans this year was picked deep

terrell owens came from UT-chatanooga, jerry rice from mississippi valley state

so don't be too discouraged. the pats have never had a dominate WR and they won 3 super bowls with Brady. Bellichek is more concerned with protecting Brady and playing defense. they will be ok

I agree. I think the Raiders are also looking to move Porter. If they only want a 3rd rounder for Moss the Pats could give up less to get Porter. But they wont do that. They also have the kid they drafted in the second round last year. Maybe they are looking for him to step up.

The Pat's should get TO, he would be perfect, for the Jets, Bills and hapless Dolphins.

The Pat's have gotten lucky with drafting lately, I hope it turns back to the Pat's of old, you remember the old 5 or 6 win Pat's.

As far as Randy Moss is concerned, he had such a bad year he will likely do great where ever he goes, for a year and then go back to his antics. Sadly he wants to go back to his good friend and old college QB, Chad Pennington. Randy was lobbying the Vikings to trade for him before he ever started a game for the Jets a few years back. As a Jet fan, I want nothing to do with him in NYC, that's asking for trouble. It would be like Ricky Williams playing in Amsterdam (weed is legal there).

Moss as a receiver is one of the best, unfortunately,he is also one of the moodiest egocentric players in the NFL,the luggage he carries is not worth the trouble getting him,all he will do is disrupt an all ready well oiled machine which the Pats have been for the last six years

I am a huge Vikings fan, and I will just say that watching Moss play is a thing of beauty. I would advise them to go after Moss.
