Ever hear those rumors were if you play a record backwards, lets say the (Beatles) you can hear a creepy or funny message from that song? Or how about the one's were you can't quite hear it but if you put on a pair of headphones and turn the music up high you can hear that subliminal message in the background, for instance (Pink Floyd -The great gig in the sky) towards in the middle of the song you can hear a womens voice faintly saying (I never said i was frightened of dying) If you know of any hidden message's in a song let's hear about it..

The Stone Roses created the song "Don't Stop" from their self-titled debut-album by playing the demo of another song, "Waterfall", backwards, and then adding lyrics that they thought fit to the sound of the song. In Enigma's fourth album, The Screen Behind the Mirror, the song "Camera Obscura" contained sections of Andru Donalds' reversed vocals from "Modern Crusaders", an earlier track in the album. Towards the end of "Camera Obscura", a symmetric pattern emerges at the point of climax, as it reverses into the buildup of the climax, creating a chaotic atmosphere.

In 1997, the Scottish band Mogwai released a track on their album "Young Team" called, "Yes! I Am A Long Way From Home" which contains backmasking at about 3:45 duration. The backmasking takes place at the song's standard exciting part.

In 2002, Boards of Canada released Geogaddi, which contained a track entitled "Dandelion". The focal point of the song is a sample of Leslie Nielsen's voice from a '70s educational video, but the music in the background is, in fact, a reversed melody. Additionally, the song "A Is To Be As B Is To C", also on Geogaddi, contains the phrase "I've been gone about a week...", which can be heard in both normal and reversed playback, thus making it a true audio palindrome.

Linkin Park's "Announcement Service Public" contains a reverse recording of singer Chester Bennington screaming "You should brush your teeth and you should wash your hands!". The song "P5hng Me A*wy" from the album Reanimation also has a backmasked part that consists of two of the song's verses.

Tally Hall's "Ruler of Everything" contains a portion of seemingly nonsensical laughter which comes out "Eh heh ho ho! Ah, he's a jackrabbit! He's a jackrabbit look at him! He's jumping around! Ah haha!" when played in reverse.

Utada Hikaru's hit single "Passion" has several backmasked parts, saying "I need more affection than you know." In the english version of Passion (Sanctuary), and in the opening version of Passion, a verse which is almost completely backwards can be heard, saying "So many ups and downs" and "I need true emotions", along with "I need more affection than you know".

The Cure's song Pornography, which focuses on death and suicide, begins with a backmasked excerpt of a BBC anchorman signing off.

Prince used backmasking on his Purple Rain album at the end of the song Darling Nikki. It says "Hello, how are you? I'm fine because I know that the lord is coming soon, coming, coming soon. Ha ha ha ha ha."

I answered a few questions about this earlier today. I have heard the one with jay-z. And I have heard the one on A. Keys Fallin song. I have heard a few back in the day too. Mostly on a lot of puffys stuff from back then you know early 90's time. Also public enemy had them in there songs too. All that fight the power and blank panther stuff. It goes on all the time and most times its not the artist putting it in there its the producers. On the Fallin track for A keys there is a part that says love me im the best around. you have to play it backwards but its there. Like I said earlier she is my girl but at the same time she had to make sure her stuff would sell. LOL.

I remember how funny it was when all the religious people were freaking out about 'backmasking' messages on albums.

The only ones I know off the top of my head (besides the ones you mentioned) are the not-so-hidden backwards message at the beginning of 'possesion' on danzigs first album (I can't remember what it says - but it is probably 'evil'). I think after a certain point people were just putting hidden messages on their albums just to freak people out.

At the end of "When Doves Cry" by Prince there is a message, it is nothing that is evil or anything, but it is there. Can't quite remember what it said, but I know it wasn't anything disgusting.Check it out for yourself.

real interesting. id love to believe its hidden in the song but as most of the words are in the song clearly audible i think its just in the background when the vocals are stripped away. as the songs about gerard and mikeys mate who committed suicide before they made it big the "dont do it" bit is real sad and emotional

I can't think of any now, but I'm really interested to find out.
I know Marilyn Manson has some but I don't remember which.

we used to do that in high school (showing my age)-when u spin an album back it's pretty distorted so u hear pretty much whatever you want-especially if the dope you're smoking is pretty good. We used to think Motley Crue "Shout at the Devil" said; "worship...worship...satan...satan"-but we were stoned.
