An afterword is a message from the author after the conclusion of the story. That seems to fit the situation you described as well.

Maybe something suggesting the plot which follows the set-up you've proposed (just as Harry Potter titles involve what happens AFTER he arrives at Hogwarts)?
One could argue that your cover blurb is similar to the setup for "Murder by Death"
How about "The Final Chapter Begins"?
Is the plot along the lines of "Ten Little Indians"? Do people start dieing like characters in the earlier books? Do they find pieces of the book in a deadly tresure hunt? Was the author truly murdered, or was this a deception?

maybe"the last" "the end" "12"(that would really work if it was the authors 12th book) depends on who the author is that dies. you could make some thing out of the name.
