No. She broke a restraining order, drove 900 miles to get at her and used pepper spray on her target while carrying a knife, a hammer and so on. This was premeditated. How long did it take her to drive that distance, plenty of time to consider what she was doing. She should be locked up for good. This was all carefully worked out. And she cannot claim mental problems unless the astronaut psychological evaluations are sadly lacking.

The astronaut violated a restraining order Shipman had against her for stalking her and all the other stuff she was carrying like a knife, rope, etc. in a bag DEFINITELY requires an attempted murder charge. Read the law!

She also had a knife. Silkstock, what about all the other stuff she was carrying with her, not innocently kept at home? The tape, the mallet and the knife combined with her FURTIVE behavior. Should she get a pass on this because she was an astronaut, of course not.
