The phenomena of friction is an application of the electromagnetic force which binds electrons to atoms, and by extension, atoms to other atoms to form molecules and everything else made from molecules.

So, to be pedantic, asking what happens if you remove friction is the same as asking what happens if you remove the electromagnetic force. What happens is that the world promptly dissolves into a cloud of atomic nuclei and free electrons very loosely bound by the gravitational attraction of an Earth's mass worth of matter.

Well what is friction? Friction helps to keep people walking on a floor without slipping. So if the world had no friction, I believe we would all fall off the face the of the earth and I am not being sarcastic about that. But then again gravity is what keeps on earth so friction would cause everyone to slip and fall a lot!

Say your on a sled, and if you managed to get on this sled and somehow something I mean anything like an ant pushed you you would never stop. That is if the molocules that make up your body didn't collapse yet.

We would be slip slidin' away.

Slip slidin' away
Slip slidin' away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you're slip slidin' away

Worse than we could ever think. Nothing would work. I suppose our whole environment would have been developed much much different.
