Okay, hypothetically, you and your hubby are a little tight right now. You need something inexpensive but romantic.

Your hubby learns and sings a slower version of "500 Miles" by the Proclaimers. He can't play guitar, but it's a simple song and he can find the chords online.

Would love your opinion. Thanks!

Honestly, it is a wonderful gift! Especially if the song is significant to both of you, and if not... well it soon will be.

However, my advice would be to practice as much as possible, because even though it may be easy to play, you want her to see you have tried your best.

Plus, if you go to your local grocery store and get some roses to make a trail of petals to the chair you are going to play from, it will add to the moment.

One last thing, do NOT forget a card, it will be something physical that that the wife can remeber such a romantic Valentines Day

Well, my hubby and I are in that similar situation and I'd love for him to do that. Just knowing he learned it esp. for me (or you for her too I bet) oh! My hubby is learning the guitar right now and he just made up a music piece. He said when he "wrote" it, it made him think of me....I just melted.

It's a very cool idea, why do gifts have to be expensive and impersonal, while this is something warm, loving and personal. Go for it, I would love it, if my hubby would do it.

If it is a good song and not offensive to your spouse then go for it because you are being yourself and being creative to make her happy. Now I know a dinner or something goes along with it right?

This is one of my favorite songs ever. Romantic and goofy and sweet ....This is a wonderful idea that you have and it will be all the more special to her because such thought and effort went into it. Good job.

I think I would cry, in a good way.... but do give her a hand-written card as well. I like to draw pictures on my cards I give to people.
