I suggest a professional diagnosis. You need to find the root cause of the bad feelings and learn how to effectively deal with it. Often, there are subtle differences between different psychological conditions, but the treatment for them can be very different. It is hard to diagnosis the cause from the symptoms you mention here, but a easy interview should be able to make a determination. If you are really unhappy, I would suggest as soon as possible.

Good, you are aware of how you are feeling and what's going on with yourself - that's the first step (and usually a very big one for most).
It never hurts to get a professional opinion. Keep in mind that you aren't locked into the first doc you see. If you aren't happy with him/her and don't feel like they are working with you as they should, try another - you will know when you have found the right doc (and possibly medication combo).
Therapy is never a bad place to start. It helped me tremendously when I was going through a rough time, and also made me feel like I had a better handle on the situation when it was spinning out of control. Everyone needs a little nudge in the right direction sometime, and that may just be the right place to find it.
From the age of fourteen and on (I am now 29) I had constantly had cycles of depression, and all kinds of odd things in between. At nineteen I realized that it just wasn't normal, and made an appointment. That appointment changed everything for me. I did receive treatment and was given a prescription for medication. The meds helped for a short time, but then not at all. We tried a few different kinds and I realized that the doctor just wasn't doing it for me. The second doctor I went to stated that I was put on the wrong meds, and I was informed that I am bipolar (which was news to me). When he explained it all (and if you have ANY questions, don't hesitate to ask) to me it was all very clear. I have been medicated now for quite some time, trying new products and dosage combinations and now have found what is right for me. There is hope, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. My only regret is not going with my gut with the first doc and leaving when I felt it he wasn't for me.
I am not a doctor in any form, but from what you describe it does (at the very least) sound like you have some type of depression (type unknown) and possibly PTSD. I would hope that you make an appointment and get to the bottom of it.
I wish you all the best, and if you have any questions, please feel free to IM me or email me, I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Take care!

Ohh sweet one calm yourself and call a good professional before you lose that ability too.
If you are depressed is hard to say out of this short lines but you are troubled in a way that the Doc may call borderline. Are you dead scare of separations?
Have any social phobias, like everybody watching you in stores etc(no not the horny guys)
Then you are in the 'zone'.¨
If cant sleep until morning light comes and at there rare occasions when you drift off early, you wake up ridiculous early with nothing inside and nothing to do but wait, then you perhaps are depressed.
If you are quiet young, before 25,try ride it a bit further, but don't hesitate to ask for help.
Its not dramatic but it can be a while.
Mostly boring.
My heart goes out to you,all my not working angels are sent to your address.

talk to your doctor...I have/had depression. I take Zoloft. I know people are against meds, but you CANNOT control depression, it is truly a chemical imbalance in your brain. There is nothing you can do. Meds do help tremendously, though be warned, the releif is not instant, it does that a few weeks to really help!

Yes it sounds like dpression, do you have a family history of depression? You should seek counseling, even if it's just a trial basis. They don't judge you and whatever you say, they have heard worse, so you can be as open and honest as you want.

depression can be looked at as preparing you for a more appreciative approach to life, and a wider sense of consiousness in time.

i'm going to be completly 100 percent honest with you. for the past year, i have been dealing with all of those emotions. I did not go seek professional help because i thought it would make me seem weak, and people would think differently of me.

i don't regret not going to seek help at all. I managed to get through all of that on my own. i had thoughts of suicide, cutting myself, and all of that. and then i realized life is too good to do this to myself. you need to find a root of your happiness yourself, YOU need to find something worth living for. Because trust me, there are things out there that cancel out all of those bad feelings. The reason I didn't go seek help was because i didn't want to be dependant on a pill for the rest of my life, i didn't want a pill to make me happy. Do you like music? if so, listen to whatever you want. just not something that will make you want to deepen in those distraut feelings. It will make you feel better if you get through this yourself, but if you can't find your own happiness, then i guess go to a psych. They might be able to help. But psychiatry only helps those who help themselves.
