Most people seekign to get married in Napa imagine being wed on a vineyard or winery, unfourtunatly, Napa Country has prohibited wedding taking place on agricultural lands. Only a few select wineries have been deemed appropraite for wedding per Napa County.

Some of the more "well known" places couples get married at here in Napa are the following. I'll throw in those winery's too.

"Meadowood Napa Valley" - Upscale Estate located on the eatern hills. Beautifull cerimony area with view of the fairways and wooded hillside.

"The Harvest Inn" - Beautifully landscaped property with a outdoor terrace looking out over vineyards and the Mayacamas Hills.

BV Gardens. BV (Beaulieu Winery) is a beautiful escape and definatly the hotest place in Napa to get married these days.

V. Sattui Winery. An older winery who received awards annually for their wines and food have a beautiful property and conquering view of the vineyards.

Auberge Du Soleil. Another fine resort focus in a french theme. They have a wonder area overlookign to valley as they are tucked up on a hill in the central part of the Napa Valley.

Napa Seventh-Day adventist Church. A beautifully designed church with very tall vaulted ceilings and a impressive sound system with house a large amont of guest and can also accomodate your guests for a reception.

I hope that helps!

I would also recommend the first referal on the napa valley Wedding planning. she does a fantastic job.

Silverado resort has some beautiful outdoor areas, one I love out on the golf course but surrounded by trees with a brick patio.

Napa Opera House - downtown Napa.

MacArthur Place - downtown Sonoma

di Rosa Preserve - very cool art gallery which has art around the outdoor property and has a very nice barn to hold a reception.

if you are open to northern Sonoma, check out the town of Hopland - you can take over the two or three inns/hotels there and everyone can walk to Brutocao Winery or a 3 minute drive to Jericho Winery which has a beautiful state house the wedding party can stay in.

* In wine country, most all wineries only have a beer and wine license and so hard alcohol will not be allowed. Also, most all places have a noise ordinance which limits amplified sound (DJ or band) to end by 10:30pm and some 11pm.

Have fun, I loved planning my wedding!!!

you might try buying the book Weddings in Wine Country by Debbie Doumitt.

As far as places to recommend Copia in Napa has a wonderful outdoor garden.

Viansa Winery and Gloria Ferrer are just over the hill in Sonoma.

One thing to be aware of with Napa County vs. Sonoma County is that there are severe limitations on weddings in Napa. Most wineries are considered agricultural and weddings are not a related activity. So you may only be able to have a ceremony but not the reception, limitatons of size of the wedding, etc. Just something to keep in mind. Sonoma does not have these restrictions.
