Mmmmm what could be more lovely than Audrey Hepburn, Doris Day, Marilyn Monroe, Diana Dors ? Real women for me.

Curvaceous, womanly, naturally sexy, voluptuous versus skin and bones, no presence on screen.

I wonder - for me it's Diana Dors, Ava Gardner, Mamie van Doren over Pammie Anderson anyday.

I prefer the 50s and 60s female movie stars because they weren't afraid to have real figures. I'm not saying everyone should be a size 10, 12, 14, 16, or whatever, but christ, it'd be nice to open a magazine that doesn't have to comment on the weight of the film stars in it (because they're too skinny, natch).

But there are some great film actresses out there now. I just think that era of Hollywood has it's own romance which doesn't exist in today's film industry where everything is dissected so there is no mystery.

The '40s and '50s had the best movie stars, by far! Who today can compare to the class and beauty of Rita Hayworth or Ava Gardner?
Some of today's stars, a very small number, do have class and conduct themselves like ladies. However, for some strange reason, I do not see the beauty in their faces that Rita and Ava had. They certainly don't make them like they used to!

Excellent choices. However, I don't think it's so much the actresses as the movies they make now days. Why can't they leave a little to the imagination like they used to? I don't wanna see spittle when two people kiss. I don't wanna see the shiny inside part of their lips as they mash them together. I don't wanna see simulated activity. I wanna imagine what they are doing. I want it to be romantic, not just the deed. Won't ever go back to that, though. It's often just soft porn now. Ugh.

I prefer the stars of the 50's and 60's over today as they took ,more pride in their work and less on the money. The stars of yesterday were more realistic then their more contemporaries in the way they looked on the screen and you could understand them better as well.

I prefer todays movie stars because they look cleaner. In the 50's and 60's they were strapped into Berleigh corsets and Playtex cross your heart bras, it must have been cooking in there and they caked on their makeup in layers with a trowel. I prefer the less makeup, less elastically strapped up women of today who are probably more inclined to shower due to it not being such a big job to get undressed.

PS, Apologies to Maralyn, she certainly would be the exception to the rule.

Ava Gardner,
Sophia Loren,
Elizabeth Taylor,
Scarlett O'Hara,
Natalie Wood,
these are the ones that come to mind right away- but I like the old movie stars- they had talent, and brains.
nowadays all you gotta have is big tata's and no brain but you can still make a movie! go figure!
