I suggest you buy an over the bed table, such as those used by people confined to bed. You should be able to fit a monitor and keyboard on there if not too big, and it will simply swing over the bed when the user requires it.
I use a 17" laptop on mine, and I can fit a mouse on it, so you should just be able to do it.

The simple answer is to get one of the light weight flat screen monitors and put it on an arm or bridge over the bed so the person can see it.
The keyboard can either lay flat on the belly for touch typing or mount it with brackets to a bridge over the bed so the arms bent at the elbows, perhaps supported by pillows, can reach the keys.
In both cases, extension cords from the computer to the monitor and key make life much less awkward.
If the person is paralized or incapacitated, it gets more complicated, but it can be done with sip and puff or voice input.

No easy way, but I think this would work well:
Get a wireless keyboard, not very expensive at all; then mount a monitor on nearby wall or even ceiling, close enough to view. Hardware mounts are widely available for $30 or so. You will also need some long connecting cords to your PC.
The other way is to have a very large TV screen that will also serve as a monitor, but that is still pretty expensive.
Part of your solution will depend on what level of "messiness" you can tolerate in your bedroom.
Good luck.

Use a wireless keyboard with trackball attachment and wireless VGA - something like this:
