Yes, when you start the assciation mode (before you choose a team) turn the cuztomize league on and change one team from the NBA teams to your created team. Also before you play association and you put a player to your created team, it says it was duplicated so it is still in the in it's original team and in your team which mean they are two but when you create a player and drafted him from the free agents to your created team he can also be drafted by other teams so they are also duplicated. But in the season mode you can turn of CPU signings but when you trade with other teams it is so easy you can get any player by just trading no salary caps no trade rejections and the CPU wont trade with you. I suggest when you play association mode and cuztomized the leagues put your created player and other regular players on a regular NBA team (don't leave him on the free agents) and remove that team when you cuztomize the league and change it to the created team so regular NBA team will be removed and you have your players without others having them. If you can't understand me just cuztomize the leage and you will understand. Btw i answered your question first so best answer pls.

I don't think so but I would go into the association game and go to customize league and try it from there...
