hi im ashley and im 14 and my mom has not let me go out side in 4 months not even in the summer well some times she let me go to the pool but that is all she let me do im tired and dont get to have fun i need my freedom how do i get that. sign loney ashley

Start a countdown chart..."x many days until I'm 18 and don't have to listen to my mom." OR try to consider that your mom may be a little overprotective because she sees other kids your age making horrible mistakes, some with consequences that will last the rest of their lives. Maybe you should try asking her why she is being so restrictive. Don't get into a shouting match. Just tell her you want to understand her point of view. Maybe you could write her a letter telling her your side of things. Perhaps you can find a way to compromise. Remember you are only 14. I imagine your mom worries about you a lot any time you leave the house. There are a lot of crazy people in this world and maybe she is afraid one of them will harm you if she doesn't keep you at home.
