If we have to be tolerant of everyone, why shouldn't we be tolerant of right winged "nut jobs" like me? Why is it OK to attack my beliefs that homosexuality is wrong, but not the belief that homosexuality is OK?

You are allowed to believe whatever you want. I don't care if you believe that homosexuality is wrong, but when you move to pass legislation that restricts the civil rights of those people who engage in homosexuality you are no longer simply voicing an opinion, but attempting to restrict basic civil rights for those people who are targeted by your ignorance. What people do behind closed doors is up to them. Disagree if you like, but don't think that you have the right to pass legislation against them. I'd like to make ignorance like they kind you display illegal too, but part of living in a free country is respecting the rights of people who are different.

The Liberals are only tolerable of people that share their views. Its just like the rich Liberals of this country pretending to "understand" the middle class when in reality most of them have no clue what its like to live pay check to paycheck and have to pick and choose between going to the movies on a Friday night or buying your kids winter boots. (Kerry, Edwards, Clinton, Kennedy, Pelosi, Rangel, Reid and the list goes on and on)
They say they are companionate and understanding but what they are really saying is "if you believe what I do then I will tolerate you, but if you don't think like I do you are a crazy, racist, bigot, homophobe and we hate you".
The Liberals despise and hate anyone that opposes there socialist views and will not hesitate to tell you. But if you voice your opinion you are a closed minded ignorant person that can't understand the complexity of the world.
I love your question but you are not going to get a reasonable answer from Liberals because they know that they cannot support their ideas in a debate based on common sense and truths so they will call you names and say you are intolerable. They remind me of a six year old, when you ask them you explain their positions with reasonable basis they pull the “you’re a stupid head” defense and refuse to answer. It’s sad and I’m convinced it’s a mental defect.

Here Here!! I too am a conservative and agree with you 100%. I had this commie liberal in a college class telling us that he had to respect an islamic woman who didn't want to remove her burqa (spelling) to take a physical exam. He stated that he completely understood her religious beliefs. I'm not lying when I say he didn't take a breath when he added, "I'm not going to contact the parents of an underage girl regarding her impending abortion".
I asked if he understands relgious beliefs, why not the christian family of the girl who might not want the abortion to take place. He replied that he didn't like christians and won't respect them. There's tolerance for you.

Liberals are tolerant of the greedy conservative politicians everyday.. not by choice but thats just the way it is. Not everbody thinks the same way. I also have to tolerate the missunderstanding that most uneducated conservatives have, categorizing the liberals as the protestors, or the tree huggers. most of those people are arent liberal.

Ah, the old "we must tolerate intolerance" tactic. That makes no sense. The opposite of "tolerance" is "intolerance". The goals of having a more tolerant society, therefore, fundamentally mean a decrease in intolerance. Those who want more tolerance do indeed want less intolerant people in the world.
