Back around 1979, I was broke and looking for a job. I was walking several miles to my next job interview in Burbank. As I pass this large old building, I see a Mercedes parked out front, right next to the sidewalk. On the ground below the driver's door is some paper money. Turns out to be $55 American. The guy in the car must've lost it out of his front left pants pocket as he got out, as those cars are low to the ground. I tried to get in to the building to return the money, but all doors were locked, and nobody answred when I knocked. I wasn't about to put it under the guy's windshield wiper, and his car doors were locked. As I'm wondering what to do, God speaks up inside me and says, "Hey, fool! You're starving and looking for a job. It'll get you over the hump until you get hired. You've tried all you could to return it; no luck there. Take it. This time, it's OK. The guy with the Mercedes won't miss $55."
So, I took it, and was able to feed myself until I got hired a week later!

As to lost, I would say over the years I've probably lost as much as I've found. I certainly lost lots of Disneyland ride tickets while visiting the park, back when they still used those tickets for rides.
Now I put my money in several different pockets at once; that way if I lose some from one pocket, I still have other stashes to pull from.

I was 17 years old and didnt have a job ...but i did get allowances.
I went to Coney Island beach and laid the blanket down and sunbathed there for awhile. There were people all around me with their blankets too.
My toes just happened to touch the sand and after awhile i felt something like cloth or paper brushing against my toes. I got up from laying there and noticed something sticking out of the sand. It looked like a $1 bill.
I didn't see anyone near it so i decided to cover it with sand with my toes and wait awhile for some people to leave. After waiting in anticipation for 1 1/2 hours I got my terry cloth towel and gently placed it on the area where i know the dollar was sticking out. I managed to grab onto something with the towel and just put it into my carry on bag sand and all. When I got to the shower areas I discovered there was a WHOLE 90 DOLLARS wrapped within that 1 dollar bill. I never owned that much more than $25 in my life then!
I dont know what i did with it but i remember having a smile for at least a month..never told anyone so i was still able to get my weekly $10 allowance hee hee.
I've misplaced a dollar here and there and some change..never anything big..im too prudent about money.

Like $3 rolled up together on the curb getting out of the car at school... I gave a dollar to my sister and I bought an orange juice. & one time, I don't remember too well, a long time ago on the way to the candy store, I found...it was either $5 or $10...

The largest I ever found was $100, I was walking down the street and it was on the ground, and of course I spent it, I was in high school then so I spent it on junk food. I've actually threw away a 20 bill.

I found 100 dollars. I found it in a parking lot, I dont remember where. I spent it of a gift for my mom. And I have never lost any money but I have lost my check book before!

like 40. Not much but its 40 bucks that i didn't have. Found it on a side walk spilled all over the place, i'm surprised no one found it before me. What do you do with money? spend it maybe.

20 dollars i found it near a check cashing place and i went and brought me some lunch i was hungry that day, the largest amount i lost was about 20 as well,
