Have you ever had something nice done for you, but when you tried to repay the person in kind, they told you to do something nice for someone else in turn? It's a lovely concept, I just wonder how widely-applied it can be...

I do it quite often, and I almost always find myself being paid a kindness later that same day.

Last week I was at the store and gave a customer in line a 40% off coupon that I couldn't use. Later that same night I was out to dinner, and a lady at the next table came over and gave me a coupon for $10 off our dinner.

That i have, and it is a lot of fun too, so rewardeding emotionally because you get to serve someone else as well as you feel like you were able to pay back the other person by paying it forward. I like to do it at work a lot, help each other put plus it just promotes a good work atmosphere

do this all the time as this is the best way for people to repay an act of kindness. how much better it is to help another and tell them to " pass it on " as the world would be a much better place in doing these acts than complaining and slamming each other.

No, but I do things for people without letting them know I did it. I did ask someone else to do that. It would be a better world if people did that. I've heard of people going through a toll booth & paying for one or more people behind them. Little things mean a lot. Hold the door for someone. Say "Thank you" if someone holds the door for you. Let someone out in traffic. Give them the little "wave" if they let you out. There are a lot of simple things you can do every day.
