i want to get my monroe pierced .. for those who don't know, it's a stud through your top lip, about the place where marilyn monroe's mole was. the only thing holding me back is if i take it out, i don't want a permanant scar on my face for the rest of my life .. anyone have an advice or experience? thanks a lot [=

Depends, what size guage? I had my lower lip done 8 yrs ago, I believe it was the normal size 12, Lol, there is no hole, but I have a minor scar, either they see it or don't. The best way to describe the scar would be take a push pin and push through your wall pull out and see what was left, not that dramatic though. Go for it adds to your personality! FYI - I truly enjoyed mine, but had to take out to obtain a professional career, its been out now 5 and a half yrs - FYI

That depends on where you get the piercing and how well you take care of it. I've had my eyebrow pierced and actually had the same hole reopened twice. It hasn't completely closed up this time, but it's almost there and you can barely tell I was ever pierced. Occasionally people notice, but because I took good care of it and it was never stretched or infected, all that's there now are two little dots on either side of my eyebrow.

I have an eyebrow piercing (which I love) and my sister has snake bites. Eyebrow is easier to cover because of the hair on our heads. But you have to consider which one you're most comfortable with. Lip piercings can get in the way sometimes when you're trying to eat or brush your teeth, but eyebrow doesn't.

I had it once and when I take it out it leave an ugly scar that I do do want, but it did went away after I haven't put any ring in he hole.

well i have the underlip almost the same u thinking of getting....jumm it`ll take a while so it dosent show...but t leaves a tiny scar ...just remember that it eats your inside gum...im going through it right now...u can see the roots of my teeth, it eat my gum...i have it now for 3 years..it looks beutifull but it has consequenses....Good Luck !!

My only piercing that did NOT leave a scar is my tongue.

Not only a hole but a hole that has black rings around it for about 6 -8 months
