What would happen if your engine is overfilled by 2.5quarts of oil past capacity?
Please advise ASAP. Thanks!

too much oil will cause piston slap...the bottom of the crank will slam into the oil 2000 times per minute...like dropping a cinder block from a high bridge...

In the worst case the crankshaft would turn the oil into a froth making it hard for the oil pump to pump the oil. Thus starving the engine. But I am not sure there is any damage in your particular case. It just depends on many factors. Take it to a mechanic and have the oil drained.

As nicewknd mentioned, the crankshaft will turn the oil into a froth. Not only will it make pumping more difficult, the oil itself will not properly protect the surfaces and damage is likely to occur with continued usage. I'd recommend another oil change to remove any particles that might have occurred due to the frothing as well as possible oil break down due to heat from increased friction.

You know that oil pressure indicator?
Oil pressure is kinda like blood pressure. High blood pressure brings the risk of all sorts of badness...something bursting, springing a leak, etc.
High oil pressure brings the same sort of risk. You'll do like the pervert at Sea World...you'll blow a seal.
Drain the oil and put in the right amount. Don't operate the vehicle until you do this.

will push out gasgets and cause leaks..can also foam oil and cause a spun bearing.

usually it will be sucked up into the combustion chambers fouling ur plugs and causing ur car to smoke black. eventually it will cause it to die.
