Christians. Their book is the single most banned book in the US.
EDIT: See...someone immediately gave me a thumbs down, indicating the validity of my point, the person wants Christian expression banned.
EDIT: Wow...christian freedom of expression is leading this question in thumbs down! Proves the point, no?

All kinds are trying to find some favor in America, when everyone should be considered equal in the first place.
I don't think the civil rights movement has the same ring to it now as it did in 60's. Black folks were treated way differently than white folks. They couldn't go to the same schools, they couldn't go to the bathroom in the same places. It was completely ridiculous. It had meaning back then, black folks were gaining equality. The government though has now turned it into a game of hiding behind labels.
No one group should have favor over another. Imagine for a moment that every American looks like a soup can, or canned fruit or vegetable like you would see at a grocery store. We all have our different labels...some folks are green beans...some folks are chicken noodle soup...some folks...fruit cocktail...you get my point.
The original civil rights legislation is responsible for these labels. Civil rights to me means removing those labels, that's what needs to be changed.
Instead of being identified as a white man, or black women, etc. on just about any federal census document, why not just say, "Are you an American?"

I don't think any of the original Civil Rights groups are striving for their original causes anymore. They have been side tracked, as racism and sexism are stealthily raising their ugly heads for a last hurrah. It's a Shame!

Thanks to Bush 43, we are all back to having to fight to re-claim civil rights that have been recalled somewhat:
+ We will need to fight to get the right to a fair trial -- habeus corpus. This principle is basic in modern law and was an innovation of the British through the Magna Carta back in 1200 -- 800 years ago. But, Bush has stripped us of this right. All he has to do is unilaterally declare one of us an "enemy combatant." No proof is required, only the edict of King George.
+ Right to privacy. Right now, Bush is wiretapping citizens with no intention of getting court approval as required by law.
+ Right to protest. Protesters are sequestered in chicken pens miles from official events -- much like the Japanese under FDR in prison camps. Bush says it's "for their own protection." Presumably, he's saving protesters from the fascist goon squads he would unleash upon them on the scene.
Other than that, do your own homework.

Definitely gay/lesbian population and possibly some immigrant groups.
The marriage issue is a big one for g&l groups - it's a direct correlation to the Loving v. Va. case that struck down anti-miscegenation laws in 1967. Until then several states had laws prohibiting interracial marriages between whites and people of color.
For immigrants, many are made victims due to inability to speak English fluently, illegal status, lack of knowledge about their rights.

One civil right takes a right away from another.
We were watching Super Size me in one of my classes today and this guy being interviewed was complaining about people pressing lawsuits on fast food chains. He says that they go there to eat knowing that it is unhealthy, and the workers can see that overweight people are unhealthy, but if they were to deny service to these people with a weight problem.... They'll sue them for that.

There are no supreme court cases because everyone is too worried about being politically correct.

People are fighting to keep the right to defend themselves and their families. Example - being able to own a gun and use it if necessary, closing the borders (with severe consequences for the criminals that cross anyway, religious rights, smoking. The list goes on and on. Americans seem to be quickly losing their rights as individuals.
