Check the universities in your area and determine if the have marine science activities over the summer for high school students

Check the community college in your area and determine if they have classes or programs you can attend

Check with the local aquarium or zoological park and see if you can volunteer

If you are near a port or sea area see if there are boating trips for students to study marine biology in the summer

The best place to start if it's for a career is in HS to see if its really for you. I don't know if you are in a land locked state like Tennessee or a coastal one like Florida or Maine. The most exposure young people get to Marine Biology is during the summer months in a mini-courses. Contact Conservation groups or large aquariums in your area for information.

It depends on how old you are. If you live near an aquarium, try putting in some volunteer work there. that can go a long way.
