What I do I sit on the floor with my legs apart and very slow go to the right, than , middle, than left. I hold about 30 sec. I do it about 30 times each way. about 3 times a week.

I'm a cheeleader so I have to be VERY flexible and I would suggest doing a little stretching everyday, even if it's just 10 min. and eventually you'll be able to bend in ways you didn't think you could, trust me!
