if i knew what specific alternative bands you like the most i could give better suggestions but check out Dredg, Deadboy & The Elephantmen are both good alternative artists...i don't listen to enough rap or r&b or country to make suggestions...my reggae suggestion is somewhat obvious but i love Bob Marley...as for christian rock to be honest i don't like to classify something as christian or not...good rock is good rock regardles of religious beliefs

I'll answer one Dead Prez is the bomb the lyrics are off the chart not to mention they are about as conscious as I have ever heard. If you don't want to hear the reality about how it is then u do not want to listen to them. Politics, religion, family, the world/government, if u want real talk then them cats is it. Common, Talieb Kweli, Mos Def, The Roots, are off the hook to for lyrics and do not slip on KRS-ONE
