In this day and age of PETA, vegan lifestyle, faux fur and so much attention on such issues, its astonishing to think these people still crowd into a stadium and eat chips while watching a trained professional butcher in too tight capris confuse, goad, maim and ultimately kill an innocent farm animal while its still alive.
Its right up there with butchering of baby seals and whatnot.
Why is this still going on??

Ok I have to reply to the last post - killing the innocent for no reason other than sport and human entertainment is what gets to me. (and my dear - that bull did not ASK to be goaded with prongs till its mad with anger, if it is attacked, it will fight back).
If its useful and a resource for the planet and its inhabitants then its more bearable. Scienctic research ultimately helps mankind, not like selling tickets for a hopelessly mismatched show.

What can be gained by killing baby seals??

First let me say I am not some PETA nut case. I routinely root for the Bull in the bull fight. What other sporting event can you possibly see some skinny twerp in too tight pants and a ridiculous hat get a horn stuck in his butt by a justifialbly angry bull.

You know I have to say that I agree with you. This I can see by various answers has the mix as hunting, religion, politics..etc. Animals can be used as food but they are (hopefully) slaughtered humanely. This bull did not ask to get in there and tortured, then killed. Watching anything suffer and die is not exactly my form of entertainment.

since no one else is going to say anything in favor of bullfighting ..i gotta say something. its just like those people who say "its not manly to quit any war" well i told them to grab a gun and walk a post and in this case get a cape and go out there. that bull has much of a chance to kill you as you can kill it.. when it pass's by the bullfighter its does it to kill not to play. its a great event of live and death. don't give me that peta crap if you have anything thats leather on you guess where it comes from? meat guess? science... guess where? so get off your high horse and leave it alone. ohhh any downs i would consider a honor and love it. thank you o lay !!!!!!

I think it's wrong. We are supposed to be the keeper of the animals & protect them. I can't believe the spectators either. I think the reason it continues has to do with culture.

It's definitely not my kind of entertainment, but who is to say what's right or wrong? It is part of their culture, and we have to respect that. Besides, it is very hard to change what's been going on for centuries.

I thought we were not allow to be critics of other people's lifestyles.

That we should be all accepting of all cultural practices.

Or did that change I didn't get that note from the PC Nazis.

Have you ever been to a bull fight? They are much better then football or baseball. Who are you to cry about animals, they are here to eat. The bulls that die make many dinners for people.
