My Lexmark printer is not printing in the right colors. Almost everything comes out green. I bought new name brand ink cartridges, but it didn't change anything. Also, sometimes it won't print at all. I just get a message that the computer cannot communicate with the printer. I did the troubleshooting, but nothing I did worked. I tried to uninstall it the reinstall it, but t computer said the printer is busy and can't be uninstalled until it's through with its task. I went in and cancelled all the print jobs, but it still said it was busy. My dog chewed on the usb cable (there are no wires showing or anything) so I was wondering if maybe the cable could be causing the miscommunication.

Try the following two tests.

1) take the printer and cable to another computer. Install and try to print.

2) Replace the cable.

If the printer fails to print on the other computer, you know it's not the driver or software. If replacing the printer cable does not fix the problem, then you know that the printer has failed and needs to be repaired or replaced.
