I doubt he is racist because I think is wife is actually white. I think he meant that one day the fact that a minority has done something great will be celebrated because the accomplishment was great and not because he or she is the first of their race to do so. In a sense that we will all come to expect great things from everyone regardless of race.

I don't think so. The whole idea of America is equal opportunity for all and what he said means that skin color should no longer be an issue. The Colts victory is in no way diminished because their head coach just happens to be black. I think it is great, but I do get tired of the media making a big issue of it.

I don't think he is racist,I do agree bringing in the race issue about black coaches inspiring black kids is wrong,it should be inspiring everyone no matter who you are,not only black kids, imagine what the newspapers would say if the coach of the Super Bowl had been white and he came out and said he hoped to inspire white kids

I think Lovie Smith's comments are not racist at all & there some people who just want to prove their point by twisting his words & throwing them out of context. I don't think that his statement about a African-American Coach winning the Super Bowl makes him a racist at all. I think a lot of people just overreact to his comments & just wants to make his life so miserable to live.

Should we care what color a person skin is ?Shouldn't we judge people by whats inside of them...........Not taking away from Dungys accomplishment at all..........AND I HATE THE COLTS.....But it does help open doors for others........And not just people of skin tones other than white..........Dungy and Smith are GOOD MEN that all people should be proud of.And not just for what they have done on the Football field..........WOW ANDY.....you don't think this accomplishment deserved to be applauded........It was A 1st after a epic battle to get to this game. By Dungy alone 3 straight years in the playoffs with Tampa......and GET FIRED for CHUCKIE........and how close so many times with Indy......If This was the 5 or six time in 10years I might agree

he's not racist, he's just got a different feeling of how blacks will become 100% equal in society (this "favoring/applauding" minority rather than promoting equality is the tactice used by the liberal media and politicians so they can continue to get their vote).
