i know it sounds a lil crazy at first..... but i think it wouldnt be such a bad move for the future if they dealt Jagr and Shanahan who are both nearing the end of their careers, for some Big name younger players in return.

Jagr's injuries will plague him and Shanahan is going to end up elsewhere anyway when his contract expires and no Leetch isn't coming back. By the way... the game they had to lose to get a shot at Crosby, Jagr scored in OT to win

Honestly, if I were Glen Sather, I would fire Tom Renney. Renney has lost the team. He had this problem in Vancouver as well, implementing systems with players that didn't fit. On top of that, Brendan Shanahan doesn't have an effective playmaker to get good feeds from. The Rangers have basically evolved into a one-line team, and as we all know from the Boston Bruins teams of the early 1990s, that doesn't win you Stanley Cups. The biggest reason why the Rangers are flat as of late, it's because Henrik Lunqvist doesn't have the solid defense in front of him as he did last year. Plus, every other team in the Eastern Conference has spent the past offseason studying Lundqvist, his tendencies, and what not. He is just not the same goalie as he was last year. If this trend continues, can we say the dawning of the Al Montoya Era?

With Glen Sather still at the helm who in God's name knows what he'll do next!!! The Rangers have a problem at defense and staying out of the penalty box so he goes out and gets Center Sean Avery whose led the league in penalties the past two seasons.
The biggest problem with the Rangers is they don't have enough young talent to get through the end of the season and through the playoffs. They folded at the end of last season and they can't even get through the middle of this one.
I'd rather see the Rangers take the Penguins route and lose for awhile so they can get some high draft picks. I would love to see a younger, faster Ranger's team - not Shanny, not Nylander, and please don't bring back Leetch!

they'll keep jagr and shanahan until retirement, cause the rangers are where good players go to die.
