I have two anti-viruses NortonSystemWorks2005 & Quick Heal 2006.
Both of them have their own strengths. So, can i proceed to install both of them in same OS? Is there any harm in installing two popular
antiviruses in same OS?

When two antivirus programs start prowling around, all sorts of problems happen, ranging from program crashes to system lockups. Because these programs typically remain on all the time, they generally load as soon as Windows boots, which means if you install more than one antivirus application on your PC, both programs load automatically and lock up the system before there's a chance to troubleshoot. While it's not recommended to install multiple antivirus programs, you should however make sure you scan your computer with more than 1 spyware/adware programs as others tend to find things that the first one didn't. If you choose this solution you shouldn't however have them both starting up with windows as you will see longer start up times and slower browsing as all these programs are using a substantial amount of memory, you can use the msconfig utility to manage your start up applications.

If you get a pop up while surfing the internet saying that your computer is infected with a X virus(x being random) you should know that its a scam. If you by any chance clicked on that pop up then there is a very high probability that your computer is now infected with either spyware or malware. First I need you to download some efficient software for your problem: -MalwareBytes Anti-Malware -SpyBot Search & Destroy Just download them do not try to install. Now follow these instructions: 1.Restart your computer and keep pressing f8 2. Select SAFE MODE from the list 3. Log into windows as administrator 4. Install MalwareBytes 5. After a successful installation please do a full scan with MalwareBytes program 6. After the successful removal of the virus install and run SpyBot as well to get rid of any spyware When your done just follow step 1 again and choose "NORMAL MODE" from the list. Please do not pursue any remote desktop help because in order to successfully remove the virus that you have requires steps that is not possible to take while being connected to a remote desktop.

It is never suggested to install multiple vendor AV software. The reason is that they more than likely will not be compatible with each other. Often they are calling on the same system monitoring functions/interceptors that monitor system events on the kernel level, in turn crashing or hanging the system.
