The best is Pizza Papalis. The original is in the Greektown section of Detroit, but they have 6 or 7 others in Metro Detroit. The rest of the menu is good too.
On the East Side, Mama Rosa's in Grosse Pointe Park has very good pizza and other dishes also.

For a good burger: Chee Burger - Chee Burger on 6 Mile and Haggerty in Livonia This place has a fun, 50's diner look. There are basically three things on the menu: burgers, fries, and shakes. But man, oh man! What great tastes! I'm telling you, what the curly frie was to the standard frie, THESE fries are to everything else. Such a perfect blend of spices and seasonings...all with a house dipping sauce that is just out of this world! There is a zesty tang to the flavor - and definitely a hint of heat. But hey, these are just the fries. Let's move on to the burgers... What makes CB-CB burgers so darn great is the fact that you get to pick a size to your burger and then go to town! As many toppings as you want; varrying from whole portobella mushrooms caps to artichoke hearts and sun-dried tomatoes, you're sure to be able to craft a burger that boasts a bodacious blend of goodness! Finally, the shakes are top-knotch as well. For a more elegant experience: Shiro's Japanese Cousine with a French Flair. 9 Mile and Novi Rd in Novi. Picture this: a victorian manor remodeled as a restaurant, but retaining the grand staircase and individually themed rooms - with traditional tatami mat floor eating in the basement! AMAZING sushi and superb european dishes make this a "can't lose" establishment. Not too pricey, either. Menu changes daily. Great for a date. For a good bar scene: Malarky's Central City Parkway and Warren in Westland Great food, great drinks, great prices, lively entertainment, pool, big tv's for sports, dj's, spacious sections for whatever you want, friendly atmosphere to meet new people...what more could you want! I'm there almost every Thursday. Try the Turkey Club.

Well Buddy's is the Detroit special, it is very good.
I like that and Jet's Pizza...I have lived in a lot of places and NO ONE makes a good square pizza like Detroit.

Detroit's not full of good pizza joints. I'm OK with Jet's, but can't stand Paisano's or Cece's (drek!). It's a sad commentary, but I honestly think Pizza Hut is consistently the best pizza in the Detroit Metro area.
