The main reason is that Americans have a very short memory, it's been over 5 years, so while they remember the events of that day, the feelings - the emotions that were so strong watching those towers burn, seeing ppl jump to avoid burning, seeing the towers fall, the pride that we all felt when we learned that those on Flight 93 had fought back...& stopped another attack....The American Flag was flying everywhere, i rem. the singing on the steps of the capitol, ...b/c the emotion was so raw in the actions so in "your face", unity was the result, the exact opposite of what the terrorists had hoped for....But the terrorists are getting what they want now. When all the other attacks were happening, the embassies in Kenya & Tanzania, The Kobar Towers Bombing, The USS Cole (which there was never a military repsonse of any kind for).....those things happened far enuff away that ppl weren't affected...That's the sad part, until something happens right in your face, where you can't ignore it, no one wants to do anything about it....Unfortunately our complacent attitude & taking things for granted is playing right into the plans of the terrorists. Sure they've been planning more attacks for years, just as the 911 attack had been planned for years,..They are patient, they know they only have to succeed once, & we may prevent 99% of their attacks & twart their plans, but that 1% - will be costly.
*i too believe in this country, i love this country, & despite all our problems - i believe this is the best place on earth to live & raise a family & pursue your own personal happiness..... i pray it will be that way for my grandkids. (education is the key, it's important that each of us learn what we kind about what is going on in the world)

After 9/11 we all knew what we had to do as a nation. We were attacked by "an enemy". We were told by our leaders and the national media the enemy was Osama bin Laden and the terrorist group, Al Qaeda. The direction was a no brain-er, protect our country at whatever the cost: We had a common goal.
Today however, some Americans have discovered, through the use of the Internet, that we were not told the truth about the 9/11 attack. Evidence in the form of video clips and testimony, tell a completely different story as to what really happened. We were attacked alright, but not by Al Qaeda. The evidence shows that we were attacked by members of our own government in what is termed a false flag operation. This is where one plans and executes an attack on themselves and blames it on some other target in an effort to rally support for a counter attack.
I don't know about you, but I can not support the slaughter of innocent Iraqi people trying to protect their country from a foreign invasion; no matter how much we need their resources. If the government wants my support they must provide me with evidence that we were really attacked by Arabs. So far the only solid evidence I can find, show we were attacked by forces within our own government.
The evidence is strong and not easy to discard, unless you have no regard for what is true and right or just too scared to look at it. It is not a popular view, but the evidence points to the truth:

Hence, we are being torn apart by those who blindly support the Bush administration's self created war on terror and those who demand proof of the attack. Let's reunite again, support truth and Justice it's "The American Way".

WOW - you are really throwing yourself out there to be slapped, aren't you? But THAT is what makes America great...people not afraid to speak their minds.
After 9/11, everyone was in shock. Nothing of that magnitude had ever happened in the US. And the world was in support and mourning mode. Everyone took a break from the fighting, as happens when someone dies in a family - everyone comes together and puts their petty issues and disagreements aside. But as time goes on, and the pain becomes but a memory, the anger kicks back up.
America is obsessed with itself. That, on its one, is good. One should be focussed on their own country. But it isn't just left at that....America is obsessed with being recognized as the BEST. Thats where the problem comes in. They jam their self proclaimed greatness down everyone's throat until they can't take it any longer. THAT is why the rest of the world has distanced themselves from the US...and will only continue to back further and further away.
Within America, the hatred between parties grows. The country is divided in an insidious way...and is only being torn further apart by the two sides warring with one another. American politics have become so ugly that it is now a joke. At least to the rest of the world.
I realize I will get thumbs down from both dems and reps, for being so Anti-American...but I'm just answering the question. And sometimes, the truth hurts...

The United States of America has the hugest information highway of any country. There are so many differing points of view and so much going on all the time in and out of Country that it gets overwhelming. A ton of negative info comes from the snivelling libertarian media types who abuse their right of free speech. Notice how completely silent the apologist whiner media were for weeks after the first large scale attack on American soil? Then as I predicted they started creaking and croaking like frogs or crickets one at a time until they got back into full scale bitching and bashing like today. The U.S. is the greatest nation on Earth hands down, gives the most charity and aid by a immense gap to world disasters and myriad issues. And still some of the world sits back and bashes. The brightest minds still invent the most. Other nations, esp Asian ones steal ideas from within due to ridiculous policies like affirmitive action and race quotas in U.S. Govt and companies which is a huge insult to taxpaying whites assuming they are all are racist and try keeping out others. This Canadian is 100% in support of the U.S. The paranoia in U.S. Govt is a problem. Find a way to get some of the brains away from the Democrats and add it to the brains in the Republican party and you'll see huge improvements if that could ever happen. Research closely political ideas that unite instead of divide clear your mind of all the useless chatter, identify your enemies from inside and out. Stop watching fiction and entertainment on tv. Get out into your communities and communicate. Have a nice day.

I also belive in our country. I'm an american soldier who has been to Iraq twice.
We are involved in a horrible state of using our military might to secure a wayward politcal agenda. Our country cannot police and control the rest of the world. I've been all over the world.
Everyone is not like us. They don't believe in freedom. It doesn't fit there religious beliefs. We cannot make everyone bow down. Others wise the planet will revolt. Humanity's greatest assest is it's diversity. That is why we have advanced to the dominate species. America is seen as trying to westernize the entire world. Our own citizens are beginning to see it.
The government should fear the people, not the other way around. That my friend is true democracy.

Because our wonderful president decided in the last election, that you were either on his side, therefore the side of good, or you were against him, therefore on the side of evil. Once that line was drawn in the sand, too many Americans, and too many politicians, decided that it would be an appropriate place to build a wall, so that no one can ever cross over.
I personally find it a ridiculous way of thinking, but it's easy for those who agree with him to get on his bandwagon, since they're apparently on the "good" side.
It's unfortunate that we cannot apparently be in disagreement with him, but still be good people. I don't think HE is a bad person, just because we don't share every possible political belief.
I think the average American citizen loves our country, as they did both directly before, and directly after 9/11. But this is obscured by ridiculous statements on the part of our politicians, and the limited viewpoints that are projected to us by the media.

Maybe it was crisis that brought us together....people always seem to pull together during those times. We were united in getting the guys that did this to our innocent people. Unfortunatly there's been way too many questions brought to mind since that horrible day. Now many question whether or not they ever intended to win the war or was it just an excuse for something else in order to start a different war. We've gladly given up our rights for security yet they refuse to secure our borders, still have not 1 iota of a clue who is in this country legally or illegally.....all I hear is "we just can't" and that is something Americans have never said before. Not the people......the government. Americans were always can do. Our citizenship was an honor and they are making it mockery by even considering amnesty for millions of illegals who marched our streets, flew a foreign flag and had signs of American hate. There has been an internal change. The enemy used to be out there somewhere and now we know it's in here too and they are doing nothing about it. I don't feel very many government officials are concerned about the American people anymore. They have another agenda, whether it be their "career", the "global" world, "global economy" and the almighty buck, whatever....that I don't trust them anymore. It seems every day there's something uncovered. Another lie. Another part of a bill to silence people or give criminals more rights and privaleges than the American citizen. The voting machines are a joke. Their more concerned about re-writing the constitution and the laws of our land than they are in enforcing them. We aren't well liked by just about everybody across the globe. I believe in the American citizens......our government doesn't seem to anymore. They're allowing our jobs to be shipped out for "cheap labor", our educational system is a joke. They have it down to bare bones and yet they still bend over backwards to please people who shouldn't even be here and yet they still drop out or say with pride....I've lived in the US for 25 years and went threw the public school system, (with a translator) because they STILL can't say a sentence in English....talk about "no child left behind".!!? They have apparently left an entire generation or so behind. They can't write, can't spell, can't read, half can't have an original thought. They have forgotten about basic American history......I mean when someone thinks Martin Luther King freed the slaves, they don't know who the first president was or know nothing what-so-ever of our responsibilities of citizenship.......I fear for the future of this country. Some kids have never heard the Pledge, coz their too darned PC learning some other countries because ours has God in it and it might offend someone. They are loosing who we are. America isn't the same place anymore. I'm sorry. I used to be able to forget to lock my door and not be afraid of home invasion. I used to walk safely to a bus stop or ride my bike a mile to school and not worry about being abducted. There are pockets where America still exist....the rest is up for grabs. I can't drive 15 miles from here and stop and ask for directions because they don't speak English. That's not my America. That's not the America my Dad fought for. When border patrol agents are imprisoned for doing their job and a drug smuggler goes free.....that's not my America. When a kid can get expelled from school for 2 asprins but a child molester walks.....that's not America to me. When gangs rule cities and police can't do anything for fear of actually "targeting" the criminals......it's not America.
America pulled together that day and ever since they have been doing everything to make sure it never happens again.

If our President had actually had the CIA do their homework, he would have had the Air Force and Marines bomb the heck out of Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Had he done that instead of trying to prostitute our brave young military going after oil in Iraq, he wouldn't be the hated doofus he is now! Enough Americans know what the real problem is, and this is why GWB will go down in history as the worst president ever!

thanks. that is a gorgeous good attempt. I fly the flag from my the front porch *daily* *daily* I demonstrate it 24/7. in accordance with public regulation, i take advantage of an all climate flag, and shine a mild on it, utilising a dusk sensor that guarantees that the flag will be lit. that is that major, and significant. ADDITION: For joshcrime, that is much better than a logo, and that i'm saddened that you do not realize this. On a battlefield, the flag is the rallying element, it marks slightly of floor that should be defended. we are loose because people preserve that flag.
