I have a problem with my furnace, basically the pilot will light, it will run to whatever temperature I set it to but the blower keeps running and blowing cold air into the house and I have to go and shut it off manually beside the furnace and hit the reset button. Any ideas that can help me ?

Is there a "BLOWER or FAN " switch on your thermostat??? If there is make sure that it is set to off..If not you have a faulty FAN/LIMIT switch..Need a new one..Cost about $35 + install..The fan/ limit switch is in or on your furnace..

The Lennox G-16 furnace has a Fan administration heater it really is energized a similar time the major gas valve opens. In 30 - eighty seconds the Fan administration contacts close and energize the fan by skill of the Indoor Blower Relay's regularly closed contacts. in case you do not have this 30 2d minimum delay, replace the Fan administration it truly is the first area the purple blower cord connects to before it is going to the blower relay terminal #2. If someone has bumped off the Fan administration from the circuit and jumpered the wires, you're able to have a similar situation.

It would be the thermo sensor that tells the fan to turn on. That is not a guarantee. I found a wire that had shorted to the conduit once and that was causing the same problem. It does sound like the sensor is bad though.

I agree with Buzzwaltz, that it's the lower limit, which tells the fan to stop when it reaches a pre-set lower temperature.
