No! I volenteer at a no-kill animal shelter, and it is so heartbreakng to see all these animals, dumped out on to the streets, with knowhere to go. It is so sad to think, that the only place they can go where they will be cared for and fed, is somewhere that can't give them individual attention like they would if they had a real home. Every day, so many animals are killed because careless people just dump them. Don't dump animals. It's mean to them, and breaks other's hearts. If you no longer can keep an animal, don't throw it onto the streets. Give it to a close relative. Give it to a friend. A neighbor. Anyone. If you must, give it to a shelter, where at least it can be fed and cared for.

Please don't dump animals.

I will share a personal story. I live in a very rural area where everyday between the fifteen miles I drive from work to home and back I can count, sometimes in the double digits, how many dead animals, particularity dos, there are alongside the road. My cat was thrown out by the downstairs neighbors a year before I moved in. They have since had at least 5 cats run away. I have since adopted her and she is living a very pampered life within my apartment where both my boyfriend and I spoil her.

No animal should have to be summited to the cruel harsh world when they are a domestic animal and not meant for a life outdoors.

I am not sure I am following your question correctly. But, if I am understanding it correctly, a pet should not be abandoned. In the last two months or so, I have had three abandoned animals in my care. One guinea pig died after a week, the second guinea pig died after a month. The were both so starved when I got them from the kids in the neighbourhood, that their little bodies could not fight off illnesses. The third animal is a horse. This horse (nor did the guinea pigs for that matter) did not deserve to be starved like the former abandoning owners had done. This is beyond cruelty. I feel people that torture their animals like this, should be forced to undergo the same fate. Being abandoned after the animals were starved, is not the answer either. This in itself is cruelty beyond cruelty. Put yourself in their shoes.

well if u have a pet that u have owned since it was a newborn, or have bought from a petstore, then definatley dont abandon it, give it to an animal shelter, or a nabor/ friend. but if u have a non domesticated pet, that u found in the wild then u can leave it back in the wild, becasue stray animals have learned to feed themselves and survive in there surcomstances. but domesticated animals depend on people to bathe them, and feed them at certain times, and would never survive in the wild.

I say never abandon a pet. Mostly because it's probably all ready use to being fed and bathed and having a human take care of it. It won't know how to get it's own food and starve to death. Also it probably won't know how to protect it's self when danger comes or when a storm comes! Please don't abandon a pet!

Excuse me? Do you believe that they SHOULD have terrible lives? If so, I hope you get sent to hell when you die. Pets deserve the best lives and care and a lot of love. Who else would jump out of a semi window to save his owners live? Or jump through a glass window/door to help protect a baby? Attack intruders? Pets put their lives on the line for us and if you think that they deserve shitty lives then you dont deserve anything besides hell.

never, i have a relative that his dog in a different city, just out in the street and it took the poor thing 4 days but she made it back, just to get dumped out of state. i would have taken her if i knew- i later found out that she wasnt fixed, had no shots and that he threw her out because she got pregnant. i was originally told he found her a new family, but later found out that it wasnt true. i cried imagining her trying to get back home, or how she felt when she saw him again after 4 days just to be thrown out again.
