I think there are positives and negatives both ways. I think that in many cases you need both sexes there to learn from each other. I also understand the theory of gender biased education. I do believe that if the point is to avoid distraction between the sexes it's pointless. Girls and boys are distracted on their own without even thinking about the opposite sex.

what substantial evidence is there that this will help children in the future. There are few to none jobs that do not have a coed workforce. If young people are kept from visiting the opposite sex in everyday matters and work we hurt their social advacement and probably inhibit their ability to work well with others. Not an ideal way to teach students because they will not have adequate experience in interacting with the opposite sex and upon entering the workforce they will be operating under a handicap. This should not be condoned, after all we already went through the seperate but equal in race matters.

Many educational systems are biased towards girls and their preferred learning styles. I think that segregation in some subjects is a good idea, however there are other subjects such as the humanities which I feel need boys to inistigate debate which is for the benefit of the girls

This process gets rid of a lot of behavior problems since at that age they are hormone driven and like to show off for the opposite sex. Personally, as a teacher of Jr High, I think it's a great idea.

It SUCKS big time!
I went to college for 6 years to become a teacher (I'm not but) and I have a problem with anything being segregated in schools. How are kids supposed to learn to deal with others if they are shielded from them in their youth?.

WRONG. Segregating schools by gender should be illegal because thats just like segrgating people just because their skin color is different.
