i cant send emails on my laptop with vista, but can on desktop with xp, why?

geek squad cannot answer this. i am able to send from my yahoo account to my own excite account, but i cant send to anyone else i from either account, like i said the laptop, which im using now, has windows vista, the desk top has windows xp. need to know if vista is the cause and how do i fix it?????

Vista came out and not all programs were ready for Vista. You just have to suck it up. Check daily on the updates.

Welcome to the world of Vista problems..a growing problem. Its obvious its ANOTHER Vista problem. To fix it you have 2 choices:
1. Continue using Vista and be frustrated for the next two years or more, and keep throwing money at the problem with NEW Microsoft products such as Office, Anti Virus Software, etc.
2. Or, get smart quickly and dump Microsoft products and get kubuntu at www.kubuntu.org and install it on your computer and be virus free forever. Cost? Zero. You will have to listen to all those Windows fans continue to complain, however

I'm gonna go with 'vista is the cause' and write that down as reason #5128 not to load it on my computer.
