My sister in law is having a baby boy and we are in charge of the shower. We wanted it to be wild and fun with a theme. For instance, my sister suggested:
Cowboy party and decorate like a ranch and have guests dress up like cowgirls
Prince party and have Josie sit in Queens chair with red carpet and have crowns for people to wear
Sailor party - ships ahoy, it's a boy! Have an at sea party with it decorated like the ocean.
______
But, none of those were really "knock em dead". What are some other ideas?

When we had a baby shower for my sister's 1st boy we decorated EVERYTHING in blue...streamers,balloons,cake and food included!
We had games and prizes,pictures and present's...alot of presents!
I think you have some gr8 idea's already listed!
Keep in mind it is one day only and when we played our "homemade games" they were my sister's favorite...from the heart!

Wow those sound like very ambitious ideas, and would probably be a lot of work to pull off.
Do you know if she has a nursery theme picked out? Perhaps go with that (like if she has chosen ocean sea life, sports, or little teddy bears).
Otherwise, the theme of the party can be simply "baby shower" and decorate with blue streamers, blue baloons, blue napkins and plates, etc. In other words, keep it simple.

I had a boy last june and for my shower, they decorated in my Nursery Theme of Teddy Bears. I got a lot more stuff for my nursery this way.

I would actually go wtih what ever the theme is going to be for the Nursery.

Maybe a sports theme would be cool. Or perhaps a game theme?

Wild,eh? Well then,do I have the idea for you! Hire a female lap dancer to dance over your sister-in-law's belly. That'll certainly be a shower she'll never forget!
