I've quit smoking over a year ago.
I feel guilty that smokers are paying in "Sin" taxes for Government buildings, Sports Stadiums, Casino's, and health care while the Non-smokers snub their noses up and say, "You can't smoke here" without even a "Thanks for paying for it".
Then there's the self-righious --- Cough-Cough "I'm chocking" ... ah, but they drive: cars, SUV's, Van's ... ect-ect-ect. Auto emissions and sitting in rush hour traffic chocking on the emmitions are worse than second hand smoke. Why do you think there's a rise in non-smoking lung diseases? We've cut out most smokers for decades now, and guess what, there are more lung disesases.
I'm not denying that quitting smoking will help an individual impove their life; as I am living proof of that ... but I am miffed that smokers are treated so terribly by ppl who are MORE guilty than them. If these ppl would look at real problems they'd get real laws passed.

Yes I do feel guilty, I actually hate it, I fell of the waggon during the December holidays, I was smoke free for 2 years before my friends came back from Dubai with their hubbly's. That pretty much screwed things up for me. But I'm going back on medication (Zyban) again the end of this month.

Yes, I do, and yes, I do.
I feel bad about the damage I am doing to my own health, the damage my smoke could be doing to my kids, and the damage that will happen if my kids pick up the habit. I also feel bad about the possibility that it will kill me, and cause my kids to experience the kind of pain I wouldn't wish on anyone. It is horrible. This addiction makes me feel like a total loser, because it is the one thing over which I feel I have no control. I also spend money on cigarettes that could be put to better use on other things. There is a lot of guilt involved, and the older I get, the worse it gets.
I have tried to quit several times, without success, but I am trying again on the fifteenth. Hoping for the best, and willing to try harder this time.

No, but my husband does. He is too ingrained in his personal habit to worry about what it does to others. To him, they are a faceless mass who are trying to take away his right to smoke when and where he likes. So I tell him the smoke hurts me, and then I tell him whenever he complains that he can't breathe because of humidity or whatever, that it is because he smokes. It doesn't stop him smoking, but sometimes he'll do it in another place or put out a cigarette for me.

I don't because you can harm your health all around. Back when I was in HS, most everyone found it cool and I was annoyed by that and made a self commitment, not to smoke. I like being different.

No, I don't... People have the right to do what they want they shouldn't feel guilty espcially if they are respectful to the people around them.
