Indiabulls charges Rs 700-/ if my memory is right. this is what the executive told me when he gave me a call.
Kotak Charges Rs 500/-
it does not depend on the account opening charges da but the quick service they provide once it is opened.

As a beginner you need to open a demat account who provide good service and the software which they give should be user friendly which will help you understand better. So in that case you should go for INDIA INFOLINE with brokerage cost 5 paise for intra day and 50 paise for delivery or you can go for INDIA BULLS with brokerage cost 10 paise for intra day and 50 paise for delivery.
